In partnership with the Department of Fisheries, Government of Jharkhand, SHARE delivered a fishery project across 7 blocks. It distributed 100% subsidized fish seeds, equipment, and technical training to 383 marginalized ST/SC beneficiaries.
Our field officers conducted hands-on training workshops covering pond preparation, fingerling stocking, feed management, and harvesting techniques. We assisted beneficiaries in restoring unused water bodies and turning local village ponds into productive, revenue-generating aquaculture units throughout the district.
This initiative created a reliable secondary income stream for rural agricultural households while increasing local availability of protein-rich food. By establishing commercial fish farming as a viable livelihood, the project boosted household economic stability across rural communities significantly.
