In 2003, SHARE spearheaded a national advocacy drive by bringing 100 rehabilitated girl child laborers from 18 Jharkhand districts to the National Convention in Mysore, amplifying their voices before national policymakers and child rights advocates.
Our organization coordinated the mobilization, travel, and support for these young girls, providing them with a safe platform to share their experiences directly with national policymakers, child rights activists, and community leaders from across the entire country.
The convention highlighted the severe issues facing rural working girls in Jharkhand, driving local and state-level policy changes around child protection and compulsory schooling. Following the event, SHARE worked locally to enroll these girls into formal schools, securing their right to education.
