Supported by IFAD and the Jharkhand Tribal Development Society, JTELP transformed 30 villages in Tonto Block. The six-year initiative promoted holistic tribal empowerment, sustainable natural resource management, and economic self-sufficiency for marginalized indigenous households.
SHARE facilitated the creation of robust community institutions, including Gram Sabha project committees and dozens of women’s Self-Help Groups. We provided extensive training in financial literacy, savings management, and bank linkages, enabling tribal women to take complete control of their household financial security and local development priorities.
On the ground, the project implemented wide-ranging land and water conservation works, including check dams, irrigation canals, and soil contouring. These infrastructure improvements stabilized agricultural output, protected indigenous natural resources, and established a scalable framework for sustainable grassroots tribal development across the district.
