Supported by the Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation, SHARE rehabilitated leprosy-affected tribal families across six Jharkhand blocks. The initiative integrated marginalized individuals into mainstream economic life by establishing micro-enterprises, providing business grants, and reducing community stigma.
Our team conducted individual assessments to identify suitable vocational interests and business opportunities for affected families. We provided full micro-enterprise start-up grants and equipment, enabling beneficiaries to launch small retail shops, poultry units, and handicraft businesses within their local market spaces.
Beyond economic support, the project conducted intensive community awareness campaigns to eliminate social stigma and discrimination against leprosy-cured individuals. By fostering financial independence and social acceptance, we restored dignity, confidence, and economic stability to marginalized families across all target regions.
